Since old times the curative power of Solotvyno lakes attracts everyone, who wishes to become healthy owing to the power of nature.
The modern Salt lakes were formed in the middle of the 50-s of the XX-th century and today inhabitants of Transcarpathia as well as inhabitants from other regions can have a good rest here. These Salt lakes are located in the southwestern part of Solotvyno in the natural boundary Zaton, on the place of the old mine of XIII c. "Kunikunda" with the size of about 4 hectares. The lake has the irregular form with an island in the middle,its depth is 8 meters. This karst lake is filled with curative water with contents of salt somewhere between 146-200 gram per litre and increased concentration of bromide ions Lake's bank and bottom are covered by a layer of medical dirt slate-black in colour. During a year the temperature of water does not decrease lower than 17'C.
It was noticed long ago, that bathing in salt water decreases the pain in joints in case of rheumatism, diseases of the backbone, psoriasis is well-cured, wounds are easily healed. At the end of 19 century on the territory of today's Regional Allergic Hospital the sanatorium for treatment of joints was open, where through the wooden trough brine came to the baths from the 12-th mining gallery "Frants Jozeph". In summer 500-1000 people come here every day.
Special investigations showed the absence in water and dirt any dangerous to men's live microbes and fungus. During treatment the general baths, local dirt and brine are used. On the territory of UAH there ia the equipped zone of rest with 100 places. For having a rest there are comfortable cottages,
parking place, restaurant, shower-rooms, lavatory. The territory of the rest zone is constantly protected. The positive effect of water procedures and medical dirt is reached with the patients who have psoriasis, atop dermatitis and other infiltration-porous chronic dermatitis, and also those who have nervous breakdown, sexual organs and supportive-impellent system.
